A great site, but it does also show real surgery pictures if clicked on, so be aware of this before younger children log on. They would do well in the machine and weather sections.
www.spellingcity.com a great site for children of all ages to help with spelling. They can use words already on the site, or they can enter their own spelling words for the week! A fun site where you can use the spelling words in several games.
www.primarygames.com Fun holiday games and activities. They have also added a download section so games can be played offline. This is an award winning site – they have a link so you can view all the educational awards they have received. There are also science, language arts, math and social studies games. Check this one out.
www.kidsspell.com This is another spelling site, but it also links to other educational sections, such as astronomy, biology, dinosaurs, geography, history, math and memory subjects. There are also free educational music and movie sections (animated movies).
www.scholastic.com A great educational site for children of all ages. You can access the teacher tab, go to student activities, and then choose the appropriate grade level for your child. You will see results for language arts, science, social studies and math. Under these tabs, you will find games and activities. You can also go to the parent tab and click on games and stories under the activity center section. There is a tab for students, but I find the teacher and parent tabs to be the most helpful.
www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/fun This is an excellent site for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Games are divided alphabetically or by mouse and keyboard.
www.usmint.gov/kids A site posted by the US Government. It is all about coins, and the games are fun as well as educational.
http://treehousetv.com/kids/games I believe this is a Canadian site for younger students. There are coloring pages, activities and games. There are links to Diego, the Backyardigans, Franklin the Turtle, Berenstain Bears, Miss Spider, Dora, Babar and more.
